Dinner at H.K. Choi

H.K. Choi is my fave chinese restaurant as of what I'm feeling up to now (hahaha). I realized that I have posted H.K. Choi's food twice already but i really like their food. =D

This time, my sister paid for our dinner (it's so nice and the feeling just got better whenever people treat you) and yes I was jumping over by gladness!

Do H.K. Choi still have that vibe that pulls me to their food? Let's find out.

Roast Peking Duck (P220 1/4). The duck was a let down =( It was sad! sad like Fantine lost her teeth to pay for her debt. It was too rubbery and TOO SALTY!! I was so disappointed and sad.

Mapo Tofu (P220) Still the same good very tasty mapo tofu. I like the fact that the tofu is not easily get squished plus I like the taste of a hint of pork. :)

Beef Hofan. My sister is looking for a noodle dish that is not typically what you see on T.V. or movies we asked the waiter for their best seller and he suggests "Beef Hofan" and gladly, it was yummy and very different! Thumbs Up!

Lunch at Gerry's Grill

It's been a long time since I was able to eat at Gerry's Grill and as far as I remember, It was good and memorable.

when I was younger (that was the 90s) not yet a teenager, restaurant-bars that serves Filipino dishes are so popular that many people dine and drink casually at night. Usually, resto-bars are favorite hang out places of many people from young professionals (yuppies) to middle aged people.

there was a time that the whole stretch of Libis, Quezon City (goolge map it) is alive and full of lights due to the open restaurants at night it was very nice and "new" in the city.

I was skeptical to eat at Gerry' Grill since I'm afraid that the taste quality would be different-bad. But sometimes you have to taste and see to prove it's worth.

Sizzling Fish (Bangus / Milk Fish P255) I like this fish, it was yummy and soft. I rarely eat fish outside my house since I'm afraid of it's quality and malansa quality. For a long time, I was able to eat fish and it was sizzling the bonus is, the fish is boneless. It was easy to eat :)

Sizzling Garlic Mushroom Chicken. Garlic + Mushroom + Gravy = Heaven. It was sooooooo good! The chicken is cooked right, it was soft, it was savory, and it was so good!

McDonald's Big 'N Tasty / Subway's Steak and Cheese

Big and Flavorful sandwiches that made my weekend very full. ^_^

Subway's Steak and Cheese (P160 + P15 Extra Cheese / $4.27). It was soooo good to eat sandwiches at 11:00 pm. It's not heavy to the tummy and the bread was so soft and fresh, the cheese was so good, the meat was oozing with flavor, and the vegetables are cold and fresh

Mcdonald's French Fries

Mcdonald's Big 'N Tasty. I forgot the price of this burger but I got this for free because of Metrobank Credit Card's promo if you have a receipt of P5000. This burger is much better that Quarter Pounder since it's more flavorful

Mister Donut

Donuts are enemy of a person who's on a diet. Donuts are sweet and fattening but they are sooooo yummy and so good with Coffee or Tea. Donuts are also good to eat during afternoon or High Tea time. I've posted before that I don't like international donut companies such as J.Co Donuts or Krispy Kreme since they taste too sweet that my teeth and gums could handle.

Mister Donut and Dunkin Donuts are two nice donut companies that are so classic and not too sweet.

Holy Week 2013 Part 2 - "Prusisyon"

Holy Week is very important to all Catholics here in the Philippines. Holy Week is where we commemorate the Passion of the Lord Jesus Christ.

It is by his sacrifice that man is saved from sin and destruction. Fasting and Abstinence are 2 most important thing to commemorate and follow the sacrifice of Christ.

During the evening of Good Friday, Procession or "Prusisyon" (In Tagalog) is a major activity in the Catholic Faith. The chariot contains the Saints, and the Passion of the Christ in which designed with colorful displays and flowers.

Home Made Real Goodness! Provincial Life! Day 1 & 2 (Holy Week - Maundy Thursday and Good Friday)

Comfort Food!! Home is where the Heart is!

Many of you haven't tried any home made provincial food especially if you grew up in the city. I'm fortunate that I'm able to go to our province and relax to get away from the stressful life of the city. It's always a must for my aunts and my grandmother to cook many local foods that are not found in the city.

It is always a customary to cook in a clay pot using charcoals. Cooking in a clay pot and charcoals takes a lot of patience because it takes some time unlike stoves. However, cooking in clay pot especially if it is soup based is better and more flavorful than stove.

It's an opportunity for me (working in a bank) to have a 2 days off + weekend = 4 days vacation! it's such a nice opportunity to de-stress!

Halo-Halo. It may not be as fancy as those if Iceberg or Chowking but this home made Halo-Halo taste sooo good! ingredients are all tasty: Ube Halaya, Leche Flan,  Sweetened Bananas, Jelly, Beans, Sweet Jack fruit. On top of that is Crushed Ice and Milk! No need for sugar since ingredients are sweet! Now, once all the ingredients are placed you have to mixed them and savor the cold, sweet, and delicious dessert to beat the summer heat! Cost: P20 / $.48 now that is waaaay cheap!!

Cheese Bread from a local Bakeshop - yellow bread w/ crumbs (P5 / $.12) / Pan de Coco - little brown bread (Bread with coconut filling - P5 / $.12)  / Puto ( P10 / $.24) These local pastries are so good especially during Afternoon Tea / Coffee

My chunky little cousin
