Dinner at Min Sok Saeng Deung Sim

It's my older sister's 26th Birthday, and she decided to treat us all for dinner at a korean restaurant in makati. I was sooo excited! I love korean food, but I just had some last week during my visit to Dong Won Garden.

This Korean Restaurant is situated at Kalayaan Ave - Bel Air (the one situated near Som's, Rockwell)

I find the mood and the aura of the restaurant very authentic and very Korean! just like what i watch in the television.

Lunch at Dong-Won Garden (Re-Visit)

I really like Korean Food, not only it is so delicious and close to my liking. Korean Food is something new in the Philippines unlike Italian, American, Spanish, etc.

What I like about Dong Won is it's authenticity, and it's great tasting food. My friends were suppose to eat at Army Navy but the restaurant was so jam packed and the line to the counter will take us forever.

By the way, I'm using my Pentax X-5 to take the pictures and apparently the pictures look awesome!

Also, all the appetizers were free! so we were munching our lives out.

Plating

Something like kimchi but it's not red and just a little spicy.

Kimchi!!! =)

Lunch at Figaro / McDonald's Big N' Tasty / Zero Visibility Afternoon

Figaro is known for it's exquisite coffee blends. They have that very nice and upscale environment that usually businessmen hang out or take their coffee.

During 10am-12pm Figaro offers buy 1 take 1 which means you pay for 1 dish and get another dish (naturally you pay which ever cost is higher).

Arabiata Pasta. The pasta sauce was plenty, it was a nice mixture of the olive oil and the tomatoes. The pasta was cooked right (not soft nor hard) but not al dente. It was an ok dish. P179

Five Cheese Pizza. The crust was hard! had like a peanut brittle, not really comfortable to eat. The cheese toppings was fine. but the bread itself was a bit hard since it was slightly overcooked. but I like the nice soft and little chewy texture of the cheeses. It could have been a pleasant dish if it's cooked right. P159

Creme Brulee. I was expecting very flavorful, creamy, and smooth frost but on the other hand, it was a little pale, it was nothing creamy at all and worst of all it was mostly crushed ice. P 135

Chocolate Cookie. This drink is much better than the creme brulle, it was indeed chocolate but then again with the Everest mountain like ice inside the drink. P145

Breakfast @ Starbucks / Lunch at Sakura

I eat at my desk every morning around 7am since I go to office early so I wouldn't be late and be stuck at traffic.

I ordered my usual turkey sandwich, hot brewed coffee, and I bought a mediterranean tuna salad to try something new.

usual sandwich which i love.

The salad was so nice! I love the freshness of the leaves, the crunchy bread, and the tuna. It was a good salad especially if your on a diet. try this one. :)

Sakura.

Miso Soup with leaves (I don't know what leaf it is but it's yummy)

I ordered a Scallop bento meal which costs around P280 or $7 which is a little bit pricey compared to Jipan but Sakura's bento is a whole lot mote. The bento comes with the Scallops smothered in a little sweet and very savory sauce, red and white sashimi, salad, and watermelon (didn't touch the watermelon because it tasted so awful!) I love the dish, the flavors, etc. the only complain here is the Scallops. It is frickin' hard! like rubber! so sad.

Lunch at Yakimix

I love eating in a buffet restaurant especially when they cater a lot of japanese food. I'm such a big fan of sushi dish, especially if it's not the typical maki or salmon.

Yakimix offers a lot of food, from cooked dishes to raw dish that you have to grill. I don't like grilling since it's too much effort to grill and you have to wait till it's properly cook.

It's unfortunate that the management wouldn't let me take pictures of the buffet tables. :(

I go nuts upon seeing a wide table of various sushi dishes!

True enough, yakimix's sushi dishes are just phenomenal. they are sooo good and so "malinamnam" or very flavorful in it's taste.

Fried Rice, Shrimp Tempura, Pancit, and Sweet & Sour Tofu.

Sizzlin' hot weather lunch at Banapple

It was hot! the sun is shining to bright! there were no clouds, just the blazes of the sun.

Banapple is very famous for their desserts especially the Banoffee Pie. The line was a blockbuster hit movie. like the Harry Potter or Titanic. It took us around half hour to have a seat. sad.

Pork Hickory Ribs. The rice was nice cooked, the corn was good. The ribs was excellent and so saucy! it was not hard and so so yummy! Although it was let down to eat ribs in an intense weather. P185 or $5

Lasagna Roll. Oh Boy! this is so heavenly treat for the hungry! If you plan to eat an unforgettable pasta, then you have to try this. The pasta was cooked Al Dente, the sauce was sooooo flavorful and thick, it melts in your mouth. The bread was hot and so cheesy! it's winner dish!  P185 or $5

Crispy Chicken Sandwich, it was crispy indeed and nice but not so good as compared to Almon Marina

I forgot to take picture of the Banoffee because of the heat, there were no vacancies inside the restaurant, and it's unfortunate that the place was small and gets too crowded during peak hours.

Dinner at Dong Won Garden

It's my friend's birthday and officer promotion treat! My friend, Mic has turned 25 and have been promoted as trading officer in our Treasury group in metrobank. He's very generous in treating us to various restaurants!

I posted before on my blog on how i was so delighted with korean food, and I was so excited to try another authentic restaurant. Dong Won is at the corner of makati ave. and jupiter st.

Dong Won Garden is better that Kaya (express) well, I haven't eaten yet at Kaya Restaurant in jupiter which offers authentic korean cuisine but eating at dong won, I was able to grasp an authentic Korean food.

Sorry if I wasn't able to get the names of the food, I was so busy taking picture the foods and it was hard to pronounce the names of the food. :)

Korean Beef Stew

Korean Beef Stew: The soup was sooooooo delicious although it was a little salty which is a no no for my kidneys but, it's worth eating! the meat was so soft and very tasty.

This dish is a pancake like food, if you eat at dong won, you have to try this

Bibimbap! I posted on my previous entry about how i love bibimbap, and Dong Won's version is very very yummy! different from Kaya's but it's a delight. :)

Dumplings: the dumplings was ok just average dumplings you get from good restaurants around the manila.

Pork Slices that is wrapped in lettuce and dip in a salty-oily sauce. i love the freshness of the lettuce and the low salt taste of the pork meat.

It was like eating in a buffet with all the appetizers and food orders!

there was a very very cute and chubby korean baby at the other side of our room.

Aw! letter from us!

Kimchi

It was certainly a pleasure eating at Dong Won Garden. sorry if i wasn't able to get all the names of the food but eating numerous appetizers can make you full already. Try Dong Won! :)
