Dinner at Kanin Club (Re-Visit) / Dessert at Cab Cafe (Re-Visit)

We were suppose to eat at a new restaurant around Kapitolyo but my cousin wants to eat Filipino Food since she will migrate to the states and surely she will miss our local dish. Sometimes, Filipino Food doesn't surprise me anymore since my mom cooks this kind of dishes all the time but I'm glad many restaurants like 1521, Cafe Juanita, Sentro, etc. revolutionized Filipino dishes and put some modern twists in it.

Sinigang na Hipon. This Sour Shrimp dish with vegetables will surely invigorate your taste buds. The Sour taste, the fresh shrimp, and the crisp vegetables are all a wonderful combination for those people who love Soup.

Seafood Kare-Kare. This dish is hard to cook! My mom doesn't know how and doesn't want to learn since it's very complex. The peanut sauce is really really yummy! I did try to cook kare-kare but my patience in cooking ran out. =)

Crispy Pata / Deep Fried Pork Knuckles. It may look foreign or disgusting to others but I tell you, when you taste this, it's soooooooo yummy! It's also good to partner with beer.

Tagaytay Weekend

Weekend at Tagytay w/ CBG loves :)

random weekend just for fun! took a break from the hustle from work. just chill and relax :)

Random Fun captions! :)

Stayed at the newly opened Tagaytay Haven Hotel (clean and nice), chill at starbucks, lunch at leslie's then drinks and games :)

Seafood Kare-Kare @ Kanin Club

Oh Boy. this is one of a kind "kare-kare" dish, you can taste the meatiness of the seafoods especially the blend of the sauce and the seafoods. usually i don't eat the eggplant but i was wrong. i tried it and i ate the darn thing. it was firm and yet soft in the inside. the shellfish is very tender and juicy. also, the sauce has it's unique taste and texture compare to other kind of kare-kare (it was smooth and very tasty)

Fried Chicken @ Leslie's Tagaytay

the chicken was average. it was edible enough however, it is not a signature and it is not the dish that you will keep looking for. it was dry and the white meat is hard to swallow or even chew.

Pinakbet @ Leslie's Tagaytay

I'm not a fan of Pakbet especially when it is cooked in a restaurant. i tried the dish, for me it was horrible (well i really don't like pakbet in restaurants, i only eat pakbet when it is home cooked) but the texture was good, the squash is firm and yet soft, string beans is firm but not hard.

Kanin Club

Crispy Dinuguan @ Kanin Club

usually it's soft and bland but this one heck of a dish is impeccable. the meat is crispy, the sauce is creamy, the taste is great. a must try.

Green Mangoes w/ Shallots and Tomatoes @ Leslie's

the usually sour taste which compliments with "Bagoong" (fermented fish or shrimp with salt  w/c is salty)

Famous Bulalo of Leslie's Tagaytay

i was disappointed with this dish, i was unable to enjoy the wonderful dish. 1) the climate - tagaytay has cool climate in which affects the temperature of the dish. 2) it was served very late.

however, the taste really defines it's popularity, the amount of salt is just right, the meat is tender but not overcooked, the vegetables are firm.

Crispy Pata @ Kanin Club

average crispy pata not really a standout.
