Provincial Serenity

It's been a year since my Grandfather's death. It's hard to see your old man in pain because of throat cancer, seeing him in pain, pain because of chemotherapy, pain because of cobalt radiation, pain medication. He was a fighter.

During provincial death anniversary, it's a common tradition to have a feast to remember and for the dead to be satisfied and happy. My mother and her sisters and brothers planned to dedicate a feast for our grandfather.

Pansit Palabok. A local dry noodle dish that's good for afternoon snacks and parties.

Lumpiang Shangai (Meat wrapped and rolled on a local wanton paper). It's a local dish that's best partnered with Pansit Palabok and dip it with ketchup.

Lunch at Poco Deli

If you want a spanish-italian like ambiance, comfort food, sausages, cheese, cakes, bacon rice, and fine wine, then Poco Deli is your place.

It's a small restaurant located at Barangay Kapitolyo Pasig, along ramen cool and charlie's burger. I always come here to relax and have a glass of wine. It's very cozy, food is amazing and very near at my house.

I just wish their restaurant would expand to accommodate more guest because during peak hours, the deli could get crowded.

Menu

Simonsig (South African Wine) I'm telling you, this wine is so good I almost drank the whole thing fast.

Lunch at Le Ching Tea House

If your looking for the best noodle soup in town Le Ching Tea House is your destination. They are known for their Beef Wanton Noodle Soup and Siopao.

I've grown up eating at this restaurant, I've seen it renovate and change crew members. I still have that upbeat feeling every time I eat at Le Ching.

Stewed Beef Wanton Noodle. Same great taste as with Beef Wanton Noodle Soup but the soup is in different bowl.

Must have basic essentials for limited budget!!

Items that will have great benefits to you if you have limited budget.

If you can't leave your desk while working, these items will help you boost your energy and be more efficient in work.

These items are not bad at all. Cheap price but good in quality. It feels good to keep your hygiene good.

Meiji Black Chocolate are the best! cheap and yet very good in quality. Not so sweet, and not so bitter a very very nice taste.

Lock & Lock 1.2 liters of Liquid container. Fill this up so that you won't go the nearest water refilling station if you can't leave your desk. This is cheap but very good in quality.

Grape seed. Helps you control your appetite, reduce fatty objects in you body, plus it's nice for your skin.

Tea. I'm so much a fan of tea especially TWG tea which costs a lot but if your on a limited budget, Twinings Tea is very budget friendly and very nice in quality then match it with honey for better tasting.

Cereal Drink! if your on the go and in need of quick energy booster, then you should have this in your cabinet.

Personal Hygiene

Mouthwash. this you know for what purpose.

I love baby bench cologne! besides the fact that it's very very cheap, it lasts and very very fragrant even if it's for babies

Dove! I've always been loyal to dove, it really gives you great skin benefits especially the classic white dove soap bar.

tired looking face? heavy pores and black heads? try this and see the difference. I love this.

Always bring handy tissue with you. This come in handy when you go to places where there are no napkins.

Multivitamins + Vitamin E. Helps you keep your energy up, be efficient, lesser risk for fever / flu. Vitamin E Helps you with your fatty objects in your body plus gives you skin essential benefits.

Lunch at Yakimix

I love eating in a buffet restaurant especially when they cater a lot of japanese food. I'm such a big fan of sushi dish, especially if it's not the typical maki or salmon.

Yakimix offers a lot of food, from cooked dishes to raw dish that you have to grill. I don't like grilling since it's too much effort to grill and you have to wait till it's properly cook.

It's unfortunate that the management wouldn't let me take pictures of the buffet tables. :(

I go nuts upon seeing a wide table of various sushi dishes!

True enough, yakimix's sushi dishes are just phenomenal. they are sooo good and so "malinamnam" or very flavorful in it's taste.

Fried Rice, Shrimp Tempura, Pancit, and Sweet & Sour Tofu.

Sizzlin' hot weather lunch at Banapple

It was hot! the sun is shining to bright! there were no clouds, just the blazes of the sun.

Banapple is very famous for their desserts especially the Banoffee Pie. The line was a blockbuster hit movie. like the Harry Potter or Titanic. It took us around half hour to have a seat. sad.

Pork Hickory Ribs. The rice was nice cooked, the corn was good. The ribs was excellent and so saucy! it was not hard and so so yummy! Although it was let down to eat ribs in an intense weather. P185 or $5

Lasagna Roll. Oh Boy! this is so heavenly treat for the hungry! If you plan to eat an unforgettable pasta, then you have to try this. The pasta was cooked Al Dente, the sauce was sooooo flavorful and thick, it melts in your mouth. The bread was hot and so cheesy! it's winner dish!  P185 or $5

Crispy Chicken Sandwich, it was crispy indeed and nice but not so good as compared to Almon Marina

I forgot to take picture of the Banoffee because of the heat, there were no vacancies inside the restaurant, and it's unfortunate that the place was small and gets too crowded during peak hours.

Afternoon Snack (Merienda) at Cafe Laguna

Cafe Laguna is officially my fave restaurant! they offer variety of Filipino modern cuisine and also traditional cuisines. We arrive at Ayala Terraces Cebu around 4:00pm and want to explore more restaurants to eat.

We agreed to have a snack at cafe laguna, however Filipino snack foods are quite heavy since most of them are either made from thick bread, rice cake and sometimes rice meal.

Filipino snacks is very rich in culture and give you a very brief background of post-spanish era of the philippines.

Coconut Juice in a shell. If you have problems with your Kidneys or unable to urinate, then coconut is your best friend.

Hot Kape Ccino. A Filipino version of Cappuccino, It's smooth and yet the chocolate used was the Tsokolate or a locally made chocolate blend that's mixed with locally made coffee. Best partner with hot pandesal (small bread )

Banana Split with 3 scoops of Ice Cream (Ube or Yam / Chocolate / Strawberry)

Bibingka. Local pancake like snack that is topped with coconut, salted egg, butter, few sugar, and cheese. The dough is sooo fluffy and moist inside. The freshness and the thickness of the dish is so good with the Kape Ccino. It was heaven at that moment.

Hot Pandesal with Kesong Puti (White Cheese). A very locally made dish that is traced back as early as the post-spanish era. Usually it was eaten by various kinds of people from the Indios up to the Illustrados. Naturally, when you made a combination of a Hot Bread with rich and hot cheese inside, for sure it's a blockbuster hit.

By the way, the food costs us only around P400 or &10

The restaurant's vibe is so homey and very light to keep you up and bright.

Dinner at Casa Verde / Dessert at Fudge

The reason that i went to Cebu is to have some break from work, and of course to try famous restaurants.

Casa Verde is very famous restaurant in Cebu, also it's specialty is the Back Ribs. The ribs are very cheap but excellent in size and taste. I wish casa verde would open a branch here in Manila.

Calamares: Crispy but oily. The squid ring was relatively small compare to the outer crisp breading. it was not so fun to eat but good appetizer. AA BBQ's Calamares is far better.

3 pcs of large ribs. The ribs was so good but it was not served hot. I love the barbecue - sweet - ribs sauce although they could add more sauce on the dish but you could ask for more sauce anyways. The ribs was so tender and soft, it was so easy to chew, and it was so delightful. So flavorful and savory.

After dinner at casa verde, we head to Fudge for dessert and to relax and have good conversation with friends.

Ultimate Combo. The cheese mouse on the top layer was sooooo creamy and so good. The cookie at the bottom was so crunchy and little sweet. The let down was the middle part which is the mango ice cream which is a little bit sour and hard. If the middle layer would be not so hard and sour, then it would be perfect.

Tre Colore. The top layer was white chocolate mouse which is soft and light, the middle layer was chocolate mouse part which is a little heavier on the top layer and the chocolate was delightful. The bottom layer is the dark chocolate mouse which is thick and super moist. This was the highlight of the dessert. I love it when i take a bite on this cake, you can first taste the top layer, then the middle layer, then the last thick and moist dark chocolate layer. I want more of this. I wish I could take home a whole cake of this.

Ice Cream Cake. This cake was just average and nothing super special like the other cake on the menu. Although the ice cream was quite creamy, and nutty at the bottom.

Choco Lava Cake. The lave cake was their specialty, hot chocolate fudge come out in the middle of the cake when sliced open. Unfortunately, there wasn't so much fudge that came out. sad. But the cake was moist, hot, and very very good.

Sansrival. This was also a highlight of my dessert, it was sweet, so creamy but i hate nuts, and it's not good for my health and kidneys so I have to scrape it all off. but it was soooooo creamy and sweet. I love it!
