Lunch @ Ramen Cool

I took my lunch at Ramen Cool last Thursday before my checkup at my urologist at The Medical City.

Since this week was so sad, (rushed to the er, then got robbed - RIP BB Torch) i treat myself something i really like. I ate at a japanese resto near our house.

I ordered my fave: Sukiyaki, Goza, and Cool Mango Iced Tea. btw, prices are cheap for such a cool place.

Sadly, i hardly touched the sukiyaki. I can't eat due to my ailment (later to found out, Kidney Stones!)

I would not give my insights on these dishes as it wouldn't be fair.

Hospitalized

I was lucky that i wasn't confined. But Emergency Room is very scary!

i had tequila shots, orange juice and cake the night before and when i woke up in the morning, my side stomach was in pain (but tolerable) i just went to urinate and slept it over.

lunch time, there was just little pain. so did not took it seriously.

midnight. When i was eating a corn chip, my side stomach was in crazy painful.

then we rushed to the er because the pain was not tolerable anymore. One thing I don't like with medical city, is that they make the patients wait before checking. i was in uber pain, i want to punch someone in the face at that time.

Anyways, such a coincidence that my friend from high school took my blood sample. it was so much fun seeing him in a medical outfit.

The hospital bracelet thingy.

The doctor said that it could be a kidney stone, infection, or even colon. hopefully it's not colon.

Afternoon Tea at The Peninsula-Manila

Afternoon Tea at Manila Pen. Well, at first I don't know much to do with afternoon tea but as i have observed, it's a social gathering in which upper class people of the society enjoy much. I had a chance to experience this and it feels great! also, buffet food was great!

Me w/ my Mom

For this plate, I had a Salmon Croissant (Bread was soft and fresh, Salmon was still a little cold and it was very fresh, it was the highlight of the afternoon tea) / Coconut Pie or Buko Pie in Tagalog ( I love their buko pie since it was sweet but not too sweet and the coconut was fresh and soft. Next is the Okoy ( A local dish in which the squash was used instead of flour, then there are shrimps, and some spring onions, and little onions. topped with vinegar for seasoning) it was light and tasty. I don't like heavy filling since it tends to be overly shabby. then some fruits.

Lobby

For this plate, I had the Tomato Penne (the pasta was soft and yet firm which i like, the tomato sauce was surprisingly average in taste and a little bit spicy. Next dish is the Chicken Pandesal which is quite tasty but not really great. The bread was ok, but the filling was thick in which it makes the sandwich good enough to eat. The Next sandwich is the roast beef topped with pickle. This particular sandwich was also a highlight of my afternoon tea, although i scrapped off the pickle, but the taste and the texture of the sandwich was oh so yummy.

Coconut Pie / Cheese Panna Cota (It was odd but creamy, and it's not advisable to eat a lot.) The Tiramisu was ok. You can eat at other Pastry shop that offers good tiramisu

Same Sandwiches then Fruit Tarts (Kiwi and Orange)

The dish on the smaller plate is a local dish called "Pichi-Pichi". This is a sweet sticky cassava dish topped with coconut. This is very famous around the country due to it's timeless taste, and sweet taste.

Breakfast at The Peninsula, Manila

It's Father's Day!

I've stayed to a lot of hotels, and nothing beats The Peninsula, Manila.

from gorgeous room hotels, to gym and spa facilities, to food. I'm saddened by the Coup d'Etat  that the hotel went trough few years back, then the hotel did a major face lift with their rooms, gym, spa, and their restaurant.

A picture of the room:

A Filipino-Spanish interior (newly renovated very spaciousrooms)

Buffet Breakfast!

I love how they re-invent the old Nielsen Restaurant and Re-branded it to Escolta. Manila Peninsula now feature Filipino-Spanish era interiors on rooms, and restaurants.

Scrambled Eggs, Corned Beef (Filipino Style), Chicken Sausage, Small Roasted Potatoes, Bacon, and Roasted Pork w/ Honey. Obviously, food in a 5 star hotel is very sumptuous, meat is tender and juicy, and very flavorful.

Pork Siomai, Asado Siopao, Donut, Apple Turnover (I'm disappointed with myself that I haven't tasted their congee - looks promising)

Bircher Muesli. I'm such a fanatic of this dish! although theirs is a little bit bland but after adding sugar, it was heavenly.

Pastries. You can never go wrong with their wide selection of breads. I never got a chance to taste all of the mouthwatering breakfast foods which includes: pancakes, cereals, japanese dishes, and some of the fruits. but that's alright, i can go back anytime.

Dinner at Pancake House - UST

After a very tiring day at work, i headed for my evening class at graduate school. My Professor was absent due to fever so, just emailed to him our assignment.

We went to Pancake House for dinner. nothing beats comfort food after a very tiring day + very fun and cool friends to dine with.

I'm disappointed that the sunshine orange pancake tower was not available. sad. I was looking forward with that pancake. anyways, I ordered something else and apparently it was so yummy!

Menu

:)

Coffee (it was ordinary and it was not served hot)

Banana walnut with caramel syrup is just immaculately perfect! it costs around P202 but it was oh so yummy! it was fluffy, tender, thick and very very tasty. the syrup was not that too sweet. it was heavenly.

Spicy Chicken was very yummy and very very tasty, the chicken was cooked well, it was tender and nice. the rice was perfect.

Lunch at Shinjuku

after 3 weeks of my busy schedule, Finally! I have time to blog! I miss blogging!

I have this over craving for japanese food. since last week, I have eating to various japanese restaurants around ortigas and makati.

If you want a good authentic japanese food then Shinjuku is your spot.

Speacialty:

Gyoza
Ramen

Their gyoza is heavenly. The wanton wrap was firm enough to hold the meat inside, it's an obvious high quality of wanton wrapper. The meat filling was refreshing and very tasty. the meat was very soft and cooked just right. Inside, it's very moist and still hot. very very good.

Gyoza (4 pcs costs around 165 pesos)

Beef Ramen ( Regular size only P275) This is a classic ramen. the noodles were rightly cooked. It was very tasty. Although, the ramen was not served very hot as usual japanese restaurant served their ramen, but it was heavenly. My favorite in this dish is the meat cubes, it was oh so soft, juicy and very very beef! 275 pesos is very much worth considering the taste and the size of the ramen bowl.

Coffee Jelly (P100) it was better than any coffee jelly out there. The jelly was a little firm which I like. the ice cream was sweet and cold. But I hate the sprinkles on top of it, which gives crunch to the smooth dessert. also, the white part in the middle is i think cream, well I'm not so sure of what it is.

I was a craving for more dessert, when i passed by Paris Delice. They offer variety of sandwiches, salads, and pasta. I'm not so sure if this is an authentic french restaurant. I would love to see french wine on their menu. Anyways, I bought a piece of cake which by the way i forgot the name. i was so stupid!

The Cake! OH-MY-GOSH. moist, rich, sweet. heavenly. deadly.
